Week 6: Vibrant Sky - Meghan Minguez-Marshall

For this week's blog post, I wanted to choose something in nature rather than an interior setting like my previous posts. I took this photo a few weeks before quarantine began on my way to rehearsal if I remember correctly. I couldn't believe how vibrant the sky looked and I had to snap a picture while my boyfriend was driving. The vibrant orange tones of the setting sun made me feel at peace and sparked excitement for the coming evening of rehearsal time. I love how the orange tones mix with the pink, violet, and blue tones of the clouds further out from the sun. I also like the contrast between the dark green trees and the way the sunset shines through their gaps. The sunset felt like it took up the entire sky, which made it even more breathtaking.

  1. Warm, cool/foreground, background - key elements of great composition. Our eyes crave this mixture of elements and many times give us the senses you describe in your post - nice image and post!
