My living room has a window through which the sun can shine in the afternoon. This temperature of this week is relatively high, and I found that Boss (my cat) will lie in the living room almost every afternoon in the sun. I like to shoot the shadow of people or animals very much, because I feel that the shadow can become something different from the body with the irradiation of different angles and positions.
In this photo, the brightness is high due to the sunlight, but for the saturation I set a little bit low. This minimalist style gives a sense of relaxation, and light and shadow create a strong contrast. You can see from the color of his body, in the light his color is light grey and even a little bit white. But the parts of the body that are not exposed to sunlight are dark gray.
Really intriguing post! I love the way you talk about light and shadow - it would be inspiring for a choreographer to create a piece about :)
