When I took this photo, I just got home from visiting friends before the shelter in place was put in effect. I remember feeling disheartened and uncertain due to the virus, but also full of love after seeing my friends. Like the clouds I felt troubled, but I had a glimmer of happiness still bursting forward.
What really struck me about this photo was the contrast between the rainbow and the clouds. You have the dark blues and lavenders of the clouds with the vibrant rainbow reflecting off of it. I love that as you follow the arc of the rainbow upwards, the clouds become brighter. I also enjoy the contrast of the green foliage in comparison to the clouds. The clouds are soft and airy while the grass/trees are sturdy and grounded. Whenever I see rainbows the "Rainbow Connection" by The Muppets always plays in my head and makes my day a bit brighter.
Really nice photo and a great analysis of it and connection to your emotions - really nice mention of color and even when we know what makes up color and how rainbows happen, they are still magic :)
