Week 6: Flower- Alyssa Mendoza
I took this picture on Valentine’s Day this past February. Brown Bag was selling carnations on campus and I happily bought one for myself. I love flowers, they make me smile. I loved this one, which is a delicate pink. I like how the light of the car makes some of the petals look blue. I like the contrast between the warmer and cooler colors. The shadows make the middle of the flower a darker pink than the edges. I’m not a fan of Valentine’s Day, but being able to spend it with friends and the little things like this made it a little better.

Nice image. The flower is so simple yet so complex. You could have also given this a subject as "a study in texture" - the flower gives off so many highlights mixed with darker tones making the light and shadow so effective. Nice post!
