Week 6 - Sittichai Chaiyahat

This picture is from when I went to the beach a couple of nights ago. It was around 10 p.m. so there was almost nobody there. I love going to the beach in the evening. I didn't go down on the sand, instead I just parked my car above the beach and went to the edge of a cliff near the beach and took the picture you see above! If you're curious about where I'm at this picture was taken in Carlsbad. I particularly like this photo and the lighting because even though it's dark you can still manage to see everything on the beach, but once you hit the water it's almost pitch black and you can't see anything. So that dynamic is interesting along with the the infrastructure of the trash can, fence, and bench that's located on the beach. The smell of the open sea air is the absolute best, and can really help you cleat your mind. Also, Happy Mothers Day!

  1. Nice post. Foreground and background is so crucial to our eye and to good composition. There is an ominous quality to the photo with how much is concealed but there is also something soothing about it.
